Katherine A. Bussard is the Peter C. Bunnell Curator of Photography at the Princeton University Art Museum. Her most recent exhibition and publication is Life Magazine and the Power of Photography.

Anne Cross
Co-Chair

Anne Cross currently serves as the Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick, Maine. Her research focuses on photography and mass media of the American Civil War and Reconstruction eras.

Tal-Or Ben-Choreen
Speaker Series Coordinator

Tal-Or Ben-Choreen is Curatorial Coordinator at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Her research focuses on American and Canadian photography practices from 1960 to 1990.

Chaya Howell
Website Manager

Chaya Howell is a creative advisor, futurist and researcher. She is the Principal for Marginalized in Mind, a Creative Coach for Wonderful Machine, and an Art Tutor/Mentor for Crimson Education.

Candice Jansen

Candice Jansen is a memorist in photography and a New Archival Visions Digital Curatorial Fellow at the Centre for Humanities Research, University of the Western Cape. 

Anjuli Lebowitz
Treasurer

Anjuli Lebowitz is the inaugural Judy Glickman Lauder Curator of Photography at the Portland Museum of Art, Maine. She holds a Ph.D. from Boston University.

Ellen Macfarlane
Co-Chair

Ellen Macfarlane is Assistant Professor of Art History at the University of Denver. She is the author of Politics Unseen: Group f.64 and the Problem of Purity (2025).

Maura McCreight
Emerging Professionals Liaison

Maura McCreight is a Ph.D. Candidate in Art History at the Graduate Center, CUNY, specializing in the history of photography and art of the Maghreb. 

Sarah M. Miller
Secretary

Sarah M. Miller is formerly a professor of Art History at Mills College in Oakland, CA. Now an independent scholar, she is a 2025-2026 ACLS Fellow. Sarah is the author of Documentary in Dispute (2020). She holds a PhD from the University of Chicago.

Daniel Menzo
Membership Coordinator

Daniel J. Menzo is Assistant Director at Robert Mann Gallery in New York. His scholarly focus is on early portraiture and representations of gender and sexuality from across the Americas. He holds a Ph.D. in Art History & Criticism from Stony Brook University.

Colleen O’Reily
Conference & Symposium Liaison

Colleen O'Reilly is a historian of photography specializing in scientific images and the history of visual technology in education, and she also works as an academic editor. She holds a Ph.D. in History of Art & Architecture from the University of Pittsburgh and is based in Hamilton, ON.

Gia Del Pino is pursuing a Ph.D. in Art and Visual Culture Education at the University of Arizona and is the Communications Manager, Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona.
