Dear Fellow Photo Colleagues,

Many of us are in touch with each other directly over email, or we meet at conferences and openings. But thus far we’ve had no photo-dedicated forum to share announcements, calls for papers, and other sorts of news. We are aiming to provide that platform with a listserv that embraces photo studies. We’re hoping that you’ll consider joining the discussion. Access to the Listserv is absolutely free, and does not require Photography Network (PN) membership. To sign up, please visit this (admittedly unsightly) webpage:

http://lists.sas.rutgers.edu/mailman/listinfo/photo-history

and provide your preferred email address, password, etc.

Our listserv member list now includes over 480 subscribers and discussion has been vibrant. You may wish to consult the archives to catch up on the conversation so far:

To post a message on the listserv, simply send a message to: photo-history@lists.sas.rutgers.edu

This listserv is a space for dialog on current concerns in our field, as well as for information about events and opportunities. Examples of appropriate listings include announcements of: conferences, symposia, study days, and calls for papers and proposals to be presented at such events; exhibitions, openings, and closings; public lectures; and internships, fellowships, residencies, and similar opportunities. We discourage solicitations for appraisals, portfolio reviews, commercial interests, and the like. The principal goal of the listserv is to foster greater communication within the global photography studies community. All postings will be circulated in the language of submission. PN members benefit from receiving a monthly digest of the Listserv, compiled by Jessica Stark and Katherine Bussard, directly to their inboxes at the end of the month. To become a member, visit our membership registration page.
